- Alternative Information Center (AIC)
The Alternative Information Center is a joint Israeli-Palestinian organization engaged in both research and activism. This site has a special section devoted to Jerusalem entitled "Jerusalem on the Net." It provides bulletins and news updates on Israeli settlement activity in the city and on ongoing peace negotiations. It also offers a major article entitled "Jerusalem: An Occupation Set in Stone_" by Nathan Krystal, an excellent primer on the Jerusalem conflict and its historical background.- The American Committee on Jerusalem
The website of the American Committee on Jerusalem features their monthly newsletter, The Jerusalem Monitor, with articles on Jerusalem and a "Jerusalem Chronology" covering recent events. Recently they have added a new feature, the "Jerusalem Breaking News," updated daily.- The Applied Research Institute in Jerusalem (ARIJ)
While the Applied Research Institute in Jerusalem focuses on environmental protection and sustainable development, their "Eye on Palestine" section does have a number of reports on housing demolition and settlement activity in Jerusalem covering the Abu Ghneim/Har Homa project and others in the Jerusalem area and offering a useful collection of maps, photos and aerial photos.- Israel/Palestine Center for Research and Information (IPCRI)
IPCRI was founded in Jerusalem in 1989 as a joint Palestinian-Israeli public policy think-tank. IPCRI is devoted to developing practical solutions for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Their site focuses on economic issues and on final status issues, including Jerusalem. There is a special section on the "Future of Jerusalem," which offers an important 1995 survey of public opinion regarding the city in addition to articles, a bibliography, and a list of their publications.- Jerusalemites
This beautifully designed site has many articles on the city's history and on the meaning of the city in Islam and Christianity. It includes a useful facts and documents section plus sections of memoirs, family histories of important Arab Jerusalemite families, and a section of photographs. An excellent site for historical perspective on the city from a Palestinian point of view.- LAW Society
The LAW society for the Protection of Human Rights and the Environment provides updates on Palestinian news related to human rights, including news about Jerusalem. The site offers reports on issues related to the city, including one on the Jahalin Bedouin and their eviction to make room for the expansion of the Jewish settlement of Ma'ale Adumim; and one on the Israeli government's "Greater Jerusalem" plan.- The Palestine Academic Society for the Study of International Affairs (PASSIA)
This site offers a "Facts" section that includes an excellent historical overview of the conflict over Jerusalem along with sections on the Occupation, settlement policy, population, ongoing and future Israeli plans, the economy and closure, housing and home demolition, education, and health services. Also provided are maps and a bibliography of PASSIA's numerous publications on Jerusalem.- The Palestine Information Centre
